Witheridge Riding Club set to compete in Quadrille of the Year Competition at London Olympia
Witheridge Riding Club Have Done it Again!!
THE Witheridge Riding Club, North Devon have qualified for this year’s SEIB/British Riding Clubs Quadrille of the Year competition at one of the biggest equestrian events of the year, the London Olympia Horse Show. The Witheridge Riding Club are poised to try and reclaim the winning tittle from reigning champions, Saffron Walden & District Riding Club, on Sunday 20 December.
They will be competing against three of the best Quadrille teams in Britain who have all qualified for the final held in Kensington Olympia. The teams will be travelling from all over the UK to take part, including Saffron Walden & District Riding Club, from Essex, Cornwall Trec Group in Cornwall, and the Moat View Riding Club from Canterbury.
Quadrille, a unique and fun form of dressage set to music, offers a highly entertaining spectacle for the crowds at Olympia. The teams of four riders execute their choreographed dressage routines, aiming to earn points with their movements and overall originality of performance. This extends to the teams’ vibrant and creative uniforms which will be the most colourful competitor outfits at Olympia and without doubt dazzle the audience and judges.
This year, the Witheridge Riding Club hope to blow away the crowds and the judges with their thrilling interpretation of an ‘Escape to the Country’ routine. They will be facing stiff competition from the Saffron Walden & District Riding Club will look to defend their crown with a brand new Red Indian themed routine. Cornwall Trec Group will be bringing the family favourite Wizard of Oz story to life with their magical performance, whilst Moat View Riding Club are hoping to wow the audience with their theatrical Pantomime styled routine.
The Olympia Horse Show is the UK’s biggest equestrian Christmas party and the family fun Quadrille competition will be sure to get the thousands of spectators in the festive spirit with the teams magical and entertaining performances.
