Regular Weekly Events
Tuesday 10:30-11:00 – Bounce & Rhyme
Wednesday 10:00-12:00 – Computer & Gadget Help; Got a query about your laptop or tablet and want some answers. Pop into the library and we’ll try and answer your questions. Informal drop in session in the library.
Friday 16:00-17:30 – Library Stitchers & Knit and Natter Group – Bring whatever portable project you are working on; swap tips and chat with like-minded crafters. No need to book, just drop in!
Saturday 10:00-12:00 – Lego Club – Come along; be as creative as you like building and playing with Lego!
Wednesday 1st & 15th – 10:00-11:00 – Feel Better with a Book– Enjoy the power of short stories and poems read aloud in a small group over coffee. Free session fortnightly, just drop by.
Wednesday 1st – 14:00-16:00 – Wednesday writing group – All writers are invited to join our friendly and informal writer’s group in the library. Just drop by!
Saturday 11th –10:00-12:00 – Creative Writing Group – Discuss ideas and work in progress at this friendly, informal group. No need to book, turn up on the day.
Saturday 18th – 10:30-12:00 – Family Crafts – Drop in, free craft session the whole family can enjoy, making something different each time.
Tuesday 21st – 10:00-14:00 – Christmas Wreath making with Deborah Hastings. Book through the library.
Saturday 25th– 9:30-15:30 – Festival of Words – The event will take place in the library and Pannier Market and is for children and parents and is a celebration of writing, reading and books.
Meet at the library and follow Max the library dog on a trail through the town to the Pannier Market. We will have a host of awesome authors for children to meet, such as Claire Barker, Dan Metcalf, Amy Sparkes, Victoria Eveleigh and Chris D’Lacey to name a few; they’ll be signing copies of their books as well! There’ll be a big red tractor outside the market for kids to see, and in the afternoon ‘Stepping from the page’ tea party at the library with a book character fancy dress competition, £1 to enter with prizes for the best costumes. Booking for the tea party is essential as places are limited, tickets from the library.
Thursday 30th – 18:30 – Small screen at the library; It Happened One Night- As part of our Autumn/Winter film club. Entrance is free and no need to book but donations asked for to cover refreshments.
