North Devon Hotel Continues to Expand
Luxurious North Devon hotel, the Highbullen Golf and Country Club, has today announced that by the end of 2014 it will have invested in excess of £5 million in renovations and improvements to the hotel since it was purchased by entrepreneur Frank Chapman in 2012.
Since the hotel was purchased in October 2012, the 125 acre estate, which employs 59 members of staff, has been transformed into one of the most sophisticated hotels in the region. The 36 rooms have been redesigned to the highest standards, and all the public areas have been refurbished using original hand-painting techniques and antique furniture.
Highbullen is not resting on its laurels however, as it continues in its mission to become a key destination hotel in the South West. The Forum, a state of the art conference and events space suitable for functions up to 280 guests, is entering the final stage of its development. It is scheduled to open (with more information to follow) by the end of 2014.
“By the end of the year we expect to have invested £5 million in planned expenditure on the hotel,” comments owner Frank Chapman. “We have already spent £3.2 million on the significant improvements seen across the estate, and the completion of the Forum will see the end of this period of investment.”
“The refurbishment in early 2013 was the start of our new vision for Highbullen,” continues James Hemming, General Manager for Highbullen. “Our goal is to deliver a market leading resort hotel, offering extensive leisure opportunities in a stunning rural location, coupled with luxurious accommodation, fine dining and high standards of hospitality.”
