Let’s Get Ready to Promote Our Amazing Area…

PROMOTING EXMOOR’S BUSINESSES – ETA ORGANISES ‘LEAFLET EXCHANGE’ EVENTS

The unique charms of Exmoor and its surrounding parishes are a magnet to visitors throughout the year, but to boost the area in preparation for the 2014 season, the Exmoor Tourist Association (ETA) is holding two ‘Leaflet Exchange’ events in March.  They will run from 11.00 – 2.30 pm in The Assembly Rooms, South Molton on Tuesday 4 March and The Minehead Eye, Minehead on Tuesday 18 March.

Each event offers 50 trade stands, which businesses can use to promote their particular specialty.  This could typically be a family activity destination, a pub, restaurant or cafe, or a retail outlet.  Accommodation providers, for whom entrance is free whether members of ETA or not, are invited to the event to network, socialise, collect leaflets for their properties and have the opportunity to explore the many activities and facilities guests might enjoy when on holiday here.

Sharon Routley, Secretary to ETA, has been busy orgainising the events.  She says:

“The Leaflet Exchanges are a very cost-effective opportunity for businesses to distribute promotional literature and make contacts with accommodation providers in or around Exmoor.  After positive feedback following the event held at Minehead in 2013, we have decided to run a second day at South Molton, as we feel the catchment areas of the two towns are perfectly placed to cover the majority of Exmoor.”

Sharon continued:

“Although we have already taken bookings, at present there is still availability at both events. Stands range from £35 – £55, parking is free in South Molton’s Pannier Market and refreshments, light lunches and hot snacks will be available throughout both days. Exhibitors attending both events will receive a 25% discount, while for those who cannot attend in person, we will have an unmanned table where leaflets can be left by arrangement.”

The ETA is a non-profit organisation which has been providing promotional assistance to Greater Exmoor businesses involved in tourism since 1982. It aims to attract visitors and bring business to attractions and shops. The organisation works closely with the Exmoor National Park Authority and West Somerset Council and is represented on the Exmoor Tourism Partnership.
