High blood pressure is the biggest risk factor for stroke. Around 40% of all strokes could be prevented if people with undiagnosed high blood pressure were identified and treated. The Stroke Association advises that you have your blood pressure measured regularly to ensure you reduce your risk of stroke.
High blood pressure often shows no symptoms. There is no way of knowing that you have high blood pressure apart from having it measured. Studies have shown that around four fifths of men and two thirds of women with high blood pressure are not being treated.
Pop in to the Assembly Rooms on the 6th June between 9.30am and 12noon for Free checks of blood pressure, diabetes and cholesterol kindly provided by qualified staff from East Street Surgery, South Molton Health Centre and Day Lewis Chemists.
They’ll even throw in free coffee, tea & biscuits… see you there.
